Books kept me amused for hours and I would copy the pictures using the many art sets I was given as a child. I remember I was given a Crayola set with every single colour the company manufactured and I knew the names of every colour and experimented with mixing new colours. I loved colours and still do.

I have been inspired by many artists and illustrators particularly anything quirky and unusual.

Walt Disney Films and Tim Burton's animations have also inspired me, especially Alice in Wonderland, which was my first ever film experience. I just loved the colours and the crazy characters.

After my art education I decided to share my skills with others and became a teacher of art and graphic design.

I am now working part time so I can fulfill my childhood and adult dreams to become a full time children's book illustrator.

Since I was a little girl I have loved picture books. Even when I was a baby, my Mum and Dad would sneak on their hands and knees into my bedroom and push a book through the railings of my cot when they wanted a bit of a sleep in.
